CO is odourless, so we test as standard on every gas service and on any unit over 10 years old, in line with AS/NZS 5601 gas safety. Most manufacturer warranties require documented annual servicing to stay valid — skip it and a later claim can be refused. Diagnostic call-out $120–$180 (credited to the repair). Annual service $150–$220 per system. Typical repairs: ducted igniter/sensor $250–$450, control board $400–$700, split re-gas & leak repair $350–$650, evaporative pump or pads $200–$450. Worked example: a Cardinia Lakes gas ducted heater that won’t light, needing a new igniter and a CO test, is about $360 all-in.
