Pakenham Heating & Cooling takes enquiries for gas ducted heating, ducted refrigerated cooling, split-system air conditioning, evaporative cooling, and service and repairs in Pakenham, Officer, Cardinia Lakes, Lakeside, Heritage Springs, Beaconsfield and the wider Cardinia Shire. How it works.

• You call or use the quote form and tell us your suburb, the rooms you want heated or cooled, and any system you already have.
• The job goes to a local heating and cooling business that can price it.
• That business quotes you directly and is responsible for its own licence, insurance and workmanship.
• We don't charge you for the enquiry. Businesses we refer work to may pay us a referral fee.

• Refrigerant licence. Split systems and ducted refrigerated cooling must be installed by an ARC-licensed technician. The ARC public register is free to search at arctick.org: look for an active RTA for the company and an RHL for the person doing the work, and ask for the ARC licence number on the quote and invoice.
• Gas. Gas ducted heating must be installed by a VBA-licensed gasfitter to AS/NZS 5601, with a gas Compliance Certificate for the work.
• Electrical. Electrical work must be done to AS/NZS 3000 by a licensed electrician, with a Certificate of Electrical Safety issued through Energy Safe Victoria.
• Permits and noise. A domestic air conditioner does not trigger a Cardinia Shire planning permit on its own, but estate covenants and the Victorian residential noise hours still apply to where the outdoor unit goes.
• Insurance and paperwork. Ask for a current certificate of currency for public liability, and a written quote that lists the unit model and capacity, the ducting or line set, the certificates you will receive and the warranty terms. Keep the manufacturer commissioning sheet with the certificates.
