The flexible single-room (or whole-house) answer.

A reverse-cycle split system is the most cost-effective way to cool and heat one room or an open-plan living zone. One quiet wall-mounted indoor head paired with an outdoor condenser gives you summer cooling and efficient winter heating from the same unit — ideal for an Officer new-build master suite, a Cardinia Lakes living room, or a Lakeside bedroom that the ducted system never quite reaches. The brands we fit most are Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric and Fujitsu.

Single-head vs multi-head.

A single-head split is one indoor unit to one outdoor unit — simplest and cheapest, perfect for a single room. A multi-head system runs one outdoor condenser to 2–4 indoor heads, which keeps the outside of the house tidy and suits smaller Officer and Pakenham estate homes that want comfort in several rooms without full ducting. If you need whole-home comfort with hidden outlets, compare this with ducted refrigerated cooling — we’ll quote both.

Getting the size right for Pakenham.

As a rough guide a bedroom needs about 2.5kW, a medium living room 5–6kW, and a large open-plan living/kitchen 7–9kW — but our cold winters and the west-facing glazing common on estate homes shift that. We do a proper room calculation (floor area, orientation, glazing, insulation, ceiling height) rather than guessing. An undersized split runs flat-out and dies early; an oversized one short-cycles, never dehumidifies properly, and wastes power.

What we get right.

  • ARCtick install: licensed refrigerant handling, properly brazed and vacuumed line set, leak-tested.
  • Neat line runs: tidy ducted line covers, sensible condenser placement, minimal wall penetrations.
  • Electrical: dedicated circuit and isolator to AS/NZS 3000 where required.
  • Commissioning: system charged, tested and the controls explained before we leave.
  • Warranty-safe: compliant install so your manufacturer warranty stays valid.
